What exactly a Multicore processor does and how does it make a difference?

Whats a multi core processor?

People have often hear that a dual core processor means double power or a quad core processor has 4 times power than a single core processor of same power. So if a processor is lets say 3 ghz quad then it's equivalent to 4x3=12ghz but thats not the case.
So what exactly is a quad core processor?
Say a 3ghz quad core cpu
It has 4 cpu cores each running at 3ghz
It doesnt mean it has 4 times power!
The more the no of cores the more INDEPENDENT TASKS the processor can handle at that
frequency!
So  a 3ghz quad core processor can handle 4 independent tasks at a time and can give each task a power of 3ghz but thier power cant be shared among the cores.
Lets take a simple example
If 4 friends are given a group project but they all stay very far from each other and cant lend each other a hand so they decide EACH FRIEND will take up  INDEPENDENT TASK of the project as they cant lend each other a hand if one part of the project is dependent on the other.
So this is how a multicore processor works each core can give 3ghz to an independent task so it can handle 4 independent tasks at a time which is diveded among the 4 cores but the cores cant deliver 12ghz(4x power) to a single task
SO A 3 GHZ QUAD CORE PROCESSOR CAN BE BEST DESCRIBED AS 3GHZ *4 CORES!

WHERE EXACTLY IS MULTICORE TECHNOLOGY USED AND HOW MANY CORES ARE ACTUALLY NEEDED FOR WHAT?

-FOR DAY TO DAY BASIC USE  OF A MACHINE(COMPUTER OR A SMARTPHONE)
A DUAL CORE PROCESSOR IS SUFFICIENT BUT OF A BIT HIGHER FREQUENCY IS SUFFICIENT.
ABOUT 1.4 GHZ FOR A SMARTPHONE
AND ABOUT 2.2 GHZ FOR A DESKTOP COMPUTER
-FOR HEAVY MULTITASKING AND GAMING A QUAD CORE CPU IS A MUST
TO HANDLE THE HIGH LOAD WHICH CAN BE EFFICIENTLY DISTRIBUTED OVER THE 4 CORES.FOR THIS TYPE OF USE A QUAD CORE IS SUFFICIENT
FOR HEAVY MULTITASKING
1.7GHZ QUAD FOR A DESKTOP COMPUTER
1.5 GHZ QUAD CORE FOR A SMARTPHONE
FOR GAMING IT FURTHER DEPENDS ON THE GRAPHIC CARD THOUGH CONSIDERING A DECENT ONE
3 GHZ+ QUAD CORE FOR PC
2.3GHZ+ QUAD FOR A SMARTPHONE

NOW LETS MOVE DOWN TO MULTICORES IN SMARTPHONES

WHEN IT COMES TO SMARTPHONES WE OFTEN SEE THE TERM CORTEX
ITS THE TERM USED TO REPRESENT THE DESIGN OR THE TYPE OF CORES
LETS LOOK FORWARD TO THESES TYPES:
32-BIT:
CORTEX A5:THIS IS THE MOST BASIC TYPE OF CORES AND IS OUTDATED MOST OF THE PHONES DONT EVEN USE IT IN THESE DAYS
CORTEX A7:THESE TYPE OF CORES ARE FOCUSED TOWARDS POWER SAVING RATHER THAN PERFORMANCE BUT THEY ARE BETTER THAN A5s

CORTEX A9/SCORPION:

THESE WERE MOST COMMON AND RELIABLE DESIGN OF CORES IN THE LAST 1-2 YEARS
THEY FOCUS MORE ON PERFORMANCE RATHER THAN POWER SAVING
SCORPION:IT IS THE ENHANCED VERSION OF A9 BY SNAPDRAGON

CORTEX A 15/KRAIT:
THESE CORES ARE WIDELY USED NOWADAYS IN HIGHER END PHONES.THESE FOCUS HIGHLY ON PERFORMANCE ABOUT DOUBLE THAN CORTEX A9
KRAIT:IT IS THE ENHANCED VERSION OF CORTEX A15 BY SNAPDRAGON

64 BIT:
COREX A53:
IT IS ENHANCED AND 64BIT SUCCESSOR OF CORTEX A7
CORTEX A57:IT IS ENHANCED AND 64-BIT SUCCESSOR OF CORTEX A15
CORTEX A72:IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE BEAST OF ALL AND GIVES DOUBLE PERFORMANCE THAN A57

SO THIS IS WHAT EXACTLY MULTICORE PROCESSOR ARE IN BRIEF .HOP THIS HELP U TO CHOOSE THE BEST PROCESSOR FOR YOU!

Nexus 6 review

NEXUS 6:THE LOLLIPOP BEAST UNLEASHED

Just a couple of months ago google unveiled its next generation nexus phone and tablet along with the biggest  and the most awaited android update namely Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Nexus 6 became the first phone to run Android lollipop
Lets have a closer look at this beast
Photo:
Nexus 6 is a 6.0 inches phablet powered by Snapdragon 805 soc with a 2k amoled display ,3gb Ram.the phone packs a 13mp rear and 2mp front camera.

Design:
Nexus 6 doesn’t lag behind in terms of premium quality, the phone has a metal frame and is water resistant which is something which you would expect from a 44k phone. It shares a similar design as the next gen moto series or you can say it a streatched moto x 2014! It has front mounted loud stereo speakers giving you great audio quality! The bigger and ticker design of phone might be a hitch but that’s just something you might get used to and it doesn’t steal the premium quality
Display:
the phone packs a 6 inch 2k amoled display .It gives you 493 pixel density that indicates the pixels would be almost invisible to naked eye! The term AMOLED itself indicates the great quality of display. The display has infinite contrast ratio, even the word “excellent” is less for its viewing angles, the colours in the display are vibrant and well saturated.the display is protected by a layer of corning gorilla glass 3 which is highly scratch resistant and protects the display to a great extent so rough use shouldn’t be a problem.
Performance:
The phone packs Snapdragon 805 Soc wiz 2.7ghz quad core krait 450 cores and with adreno 420 graphics and powered with 3gb of ram. A phone with these kind of specs you will surely forget what “lag” is even with heavy multitasking and HD games running in background the phone will run like a charm. While speaking of HD games it would run almost every game with zero lag or glitch. The phone tops the most well known benchmarks “antutu 5” And “Geekbench” defeating note 4 wiz powered by the same chipset ,galaxy s5 and iphone 6 and 6 plus by a significant amount.SO basically this phone is a beast in performance!
UI power of the lollipop:
Nexus 6 is the first phone to be released with androids latest version 5.0 lollipop.
th e salient features of lollipop are:
1.Totally new UI called Material design and its something very very amazing when it comes to look and feel !Each and every component is animated the status bar quick settings panel the recent panel and a hell lot of changes come with loolipop which change the whole feel of android from theold holo ui
2.Runtime is changed to ART ahead of time(aot) compiling it gives much better performance than the old dalvik which was just in time compiling(jit)
3.Project voltanis:hough the phone packs  3200 mah giant battery the project voltanis enhances it wiz one of the key feature of lollipop i.e. to boost battery life
Though the great minimalistic UI comes with a price it steals not much but a handful of options available for eg.The Settings app had toggle buttons besides wifi bletooth etc which now you have to go inside the that option and enable it .But the great ui is worth this compromise!
here are some screenshots
Camera-

camera is a stunning 13mp with ring dual flash which is excellent
It has good saturation of colours and is great in low light.there are others with 16mp in competion too but 13mp is not something that will dissappoint you
Battery-the phablet is bumped with a 3220 mah huge battery plus android lollpop optiomisation which will edure a heavy use of a full day (or may be more)!
Price factor:
the phone though is a bit heavily priced we were used to see the nexus series in 20-30k range but this a a heavy lift to 44k  but is still cheaper than the samsungs note 4 with similar specs
Conclusion:

Though the phone is a bit pricey the phones is well eqipped with features and wont dissappoint you
i rate it as follows:
design-7/10
camera-9/10
price-7/10
performance-9/10
user interface-9/10

ONE PLUS ONE CAMERA APP

Vanilla android is well known for its simplicity but something they miss is a good camera app with some preloaded feature. Thanx to our xda developers this thing is no more a hitch. I decently feature loaded camera app has been ported from our very own well known phone one plus one!
Its a camera app equipped with a lot of presets and effects.
The best part is you dont need a rooted phone u have to just install it as a normal apk. Thanks to our xda developers!
Here is the youtube video of it
it works on all  vanilla androids (may work for others too!)
